SCA Coffee Skills Program (Professional Certification Courses)

Coffee Roasting (Fundamental)

Designed to introduce core roasting skills and equipment to people with no previous roasting experience.
The student will be able to describe the various stages of roasting using all coffee roasting terminology, understand the process of roasting and calculation of various key points in roasting cycle.

The course is globally accredited via the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

Coffee Roasting (Intermediate)

This course will provide a more detailed understanding of the full roasting process and the different kinds of heat transfer at work. Identify coffee roasting defects, physical / Chemical changes on coffee beans, type of coffee roasters and machine maintenance.

Coffee Roasting (Professional)

Advanced skills in profile development and sensory evaluation of different profiles. Knowledge of the fundamental chemistry of coffee as well as the chemical reactions happening during coffee roasting. Roastery management include principles of manufacturing efficiency, capital expenditure decision making and quality control.
